BOOK AN AUDITION:

  • We are currently accepting self-tape auditions until April 25th.

  • To audition, please fill out the audition form at the bottom of this page.

  • 🎭 What to Prepare:
Each performer should prepare a musical theatre or Disney song of their choice, performed with an instrumental backing track (no a cappella or tracks with vocals, please).

  • 🎬 Optional Add-Ons:
If you’d like to showcase any additional talents — such as a special skill, dance combo, or another performance element — feel free to include that in your audition video!

  • 💬 Let Us Get to Know You:
We’d also love to hear a little bit about you! If you’re comfortable, include a short video answering a few of the following questions (answer as many or as few as you’d like):

  • What excites you about this production, and why do you want to be part of it?

  • Do you have a favorite song from The Lightning Thief musical? What do you love about it?

  • If you’re interested in specific roles, what draws you to those characters?

  • Can you tell us about a time you worked as part of a team?

  • If you could have any demigod power, what would it be and why?

  • What’s a fun fact about you that not everyone knows?

  • 🎥 How to Submit:
Please send your audition as a YouTube link to castboundstudios@gmail.com by April 25th. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re happy to help!

  • If you’d like to showcase additional talents — whether it’s a special skill, dance combo, or another performance element — feel free to include that as part of your audition.

  • If singing isn’t your strongest area, don’t worry — this first round is just an opportunity for us to get to know you and see your personality and presence. At callbacks, you’ll be given sides to perform (to show off your acting chops) and there will also be a dance call for all you dancers out there.

  • Consult the Character List below for a full list of roles.

  • Every opportunity will be made for you to audition — please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are looking for all types of performers. You don’t need to be a certified triple threat — we need dancers, singers, and actors alike. We urge and welcome every single person who wants to be involved to audition.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:

Percy Jackson:  Son of the sea god, Poseidon. Percy is a good kid with ADHD and dyslexia, who can’t seem to stop getting into trouble, and just wants to find a place where he can belong. That opportunity comes from the most unexpected place when Percy is given a quest from the gods to find and return Zeus’ lightning bolt, save his mom from the Underworld, and prevent a war between the gods.

Annabeth Chase:  The daughter of Athena. Smart, feisty, and eager to prove herself to her mom, Annabeth is skeptical of Percy at first, but becomes one of his best friends through the trials they face on Percy’s quest.

Grover Underwood: Percy’s best friend. Unbeknownst to Percy before he goes to Camp Half-Blood, Grover is also a satyr (half-goat and half-man), child of Pan and protector of demigods. He is known for his cheerful and friendly personality, but can also be quite nervous and emotional, with a strong connection to nature and a passion for protecting the environment.

Luke Castellan: Son of Hermes and one of Percy’s first friends at camp. He helps Percy come to terms with finding out that he’s a demigod and provides advice when the gods give Percy his quest. He is charismatic and known for his quick wit, often appearing friendly and helpful while secretly plotting behind the scenes. He is ultimately revealed as a complex antagonist who betrays his friends at Camp Half-Blood by aligning with the Titan Kronos due to deep-seated resentment towards his absent father.

Sally Jackson: Percy’s hard-working mom. Sally raised Percy on her own, and would do anything to protect her son. Sally is a very kind and understanding woman who never says an unkind word to anyone.

Gabe Ugliano: Percy Jackson's abusive stepfather, often described as a lazy, selfish, and extremely unpleasant man with a terrible smell, leading Percy to call him "Smelly Gabe". He  primarily cares about himself, frequently belittling Percy and treating Sally Jackson poorly. He spends most of his time at home playing poker and rarely works.

Mr. Brunner/Chiron: A centuries-old centaur in charge of activities at Camp Half-Blood. He is initially introduced as Mr. Brunner, a middle-aged man in a wheelchair who teaches Latin at Yancy Academy. He is intelligent, civilized and kind and takes special interest in Percy.

Clarisse La Rue: A fierce and physically imposing demigod, daughter of Ares, known for her hot temper, aggressive nature, and strong fighting skills. She is often portrayed as a bully at Camp Half-Blood, particularly towards new campers, but also a brave and protective warrior when necessary, fiercely loyal to her cabin and demonstrating considerable combat prowess.

Mrs. Dodds: A seemingly ordinary math teacher at Yancy Academy, but is actually a Fury (a monstrous creature of vengeance) in disguise. Appearing as a strict, stern woman with a sharp demeanor, when she reveals her true form, she becomes a terrifying creature with bat wings, and claws.

Mr. D: The camp director at Camp Half-Blood and the Greek god Dionysus the god of wine and harvest. His position at Camp Half-Blood is a punishment from Zeus after chasing after an off-limits nymph. Part of his punishment includes having to stay sober, which makes Mr. D even more cranky than he might be otherwise. Since running a summer camp for kids is the last thing Mr. D wants to do, he does the bare minimum and leaves as much of the actual caretaking and nurturing to others, like Chiron instead. Mr. D settles for rude, curt, and cursory announcements, and he spends as much time as possible playing games.

Poseidon: The Greek god of the sea, and Percy’s father.  Generally relaxed and carefree, but can be serious when needed, and he is very powerful. Often seen wearing casual clothes like tropical shirts, giving off a “beach dude” vibe while still exuding a formidable presence.

Ares: The Greek God of war and the father of Clarisse. He is a violent, arrogant, and easily angered bully who takes pleasure in fighting, often laughing while causing destruction. A large imposing figure with a menacing presence, appearing in biker-like rock star attire.

Hades: He is the Greek God and ruler of the Underworld, riches and the dead. A somewhat misunderstood figure, with immense magical power within his realm. He is moody and melodramatic.

Silena Beauregard: The daughter of Aphrodite the goddess of love. She is kind and caring to the other campers. She is one of the nicest girls, and is a complete neat freak.

Katie Gardner: The daughter of Demeter of the harvest. Katie is very kind and patient, yet is very passionate and can be bossy at times.

The Oracle: A hippie mummy who reveals a prophecy to Percy that sends him off on his quest.

Aunty Em/Medusa: Initially a beautiful priestess of Athena but transformed into a monstrous figure with snakes for hair and her gaze has the ability to petrify anyone who looks at her. She is a formidable and cunning monster, seeking to use her powers to her advantage.

Charon: The Ferryperson who transports the souls of the dead across the River Styx to the Underworld.

Featured Ensemble: Minotaur, Greyhound Passengers, Echidna, Squirrel, Newscaster, Farmer, Bianca, Kronos, Thalia, James Brown, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, DJ Cerberus.
